Zerodha Sign-Up
First of all, you need to sign up with Zerodha for online account opening. Below are the sign-up steps
Step 1: Click on the below Signup button. You will see Zerodha signup page in a new tab.
Step 2: Enter your Mobile Number as shown below and click Continue.
Step 3: Enter the 6-digit OTP sent to your Mobile Phone and click Comfirm as shown below.
Step 4: Fill your PAN, Bank Account and Personal Details to continue with the signup.

Documents Required
Before you proceed further, let us see the necessary documents required to open the account.
- Pan Card
- Aadhaar Card
- Mobile Number linked to Aadhaar card
- Cancelled Check/Bank Statement
- Photo/Signature Scan copy
Also, Income proof is mandatory for trading in Futures & Options. You can submit one of the below documents.
- Form 16
- IT Acknowledgement Copy
- 6-Month Bank Statement
- Latest Salary Slip
- Demat Holding Statement
- A CA Certifying your Net Worth
Zerodha Account Opening Fee
So let’s get into the content quickly. To simplify the zerodha online account opening procedure, follow the step-by-step instructions below.
Step 5: After filling your personal details, you need to pay account opening fee.
Note: Tick the check boxes according to your requirement. Don’t tick the commodity check box if you don’t intend to trade in commodities.
Step 6: Enter your Mobile Number and Email ID to complete your payment process. You can pay using your Card, Net Banking or Wallet.
Before we proceed to the next step, you need a DigiLocker to e-sign your application.
Zerodha In-Person Verification (IPV)
Step 7: After payment processing is completed, you need to complete IPV (In-person verification). To complete the process, follow the steps shown in the screen below.
Step 8: Furthermore, fill your application form with Personal Details, Bank Account details and Background Info. Then Click Continue button.
Note: Don’t forget to Tick check boxes at the bottom of the page
Zerodha Documents Upload
Step 9: Upload scanned copies of Bank Proof, your Signature, Income Proof (Optional) and PAN.
Note: Your bank account number and IFSC code should be shown on your bank proof. Also, income proof is mandatory if you wish to trade in F&O segment. Otherwise, its optional.
e-Sign Application Form
Step 10: In the next step, as shown in the screenshot below, you will see two Options. Click Continue if you want to e-sign with Aadhaar.
Note: Alternatively you can arrange for a pickup by calling Zerodha at 080 4913 2020. Pickup is subject to availability.
Step 11: To proceed further, click on the eSign Equity button.
Step 12: First, enter the obtained ‘ Security Code ‘ on your registered mobile number / e-mail address. Then, click Submit button.
Step 13: In the next step, tick the checkbox and click on ‘ Request OTP ‘. Finally, enter the OTP received on your mobile to complete the e-sign process.
Note: Repeat the e-sign procedure from step 11 if you have opted for a commodity account.
Step 14: You have completed the Signup process. In the next step, download and take a printout of Demat POA and Commodity ECN.
Step 15: Finally, sign the documents in the provided fields manually. No need to sign all the boxes. Just sign POA boxes F13 & F14 and post them to Bangalore’s Zerodha office within 7 days of the account opening day.
